He therefore brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will enable him to lead the Proper Good multi-stakeholder programme board though the next crucial stage of the programme.

Scott explained his drive to take on this role, "I've always been hugely passionate about social entrepreneurship and believe it plays a vital role in addressing the challenges we're facing across both our society and our economy. I've been Chief Executive at one of Greater Manchester's leading social enterprises for nearly 15 years and we've evidenced that social business is not only an effective deliverer of services but an effective catalyst in creating change in new and creative ways. I'm delighted to be part of a programme that's committed to focusing on the most critical social challenges, matching them to great ideas, strong support and committed investment. This is such an exciting time for Greater Manchester, and I can't wait to get started".

Head of Investments at GMCVO, Cat Chrimes said “The Proper Good Programme is now in its third year of activity and over the last 6 months we have been working to restructure and reinvigorate the programme to have more focus on social investment. It is great to bring Scott in at this time as chair as someone who is as passionate about social investment as we are, and someone who is truly interconnected into the social enterprise world in Greater Manchester. We are looking forward to working with him.”
