Earlier this year a VCSE/Healthwatch partnership led by GMCVO worked with the Health and Social Care Devolution communications team, Manchester Evening News, Key 103 and Clever Together to inform and consult the public about health and social care changes.
The consultation has just gained a Gold Award for the best public sector campaign at the prestigious Chartered Institute of Public Relations NW PRide Awards 2016. Everyone involved should be very proud.
The VCSE/Heathwatch organisations worked with 120 frontline VCSE organisations to conduct face-to-face conversations with 1,837 people who would be unlikely to be reached by mainstream media. We were also responsible for 1,746 responses to the standard online survey – this was one third of ALL the responses. In addition we referred 393 people to the dedicated carers’ survey. And many, many more residents were made aware of the changes by frontline VCSE groups. The importance of our involvement is strongly acknowledged by public sector commissioners and it is great to see the excellence of the whole exercise recognised formally.
