Delivery of the Greater Manchester’s Hidden Talent programme has now come to end after six months of supporting young people aged 16 to 24 towards employment, education or training, and to improve their self-esteem and wellbeing.
We are working with our delivery partners to confirm the final numbers, but we are delighted to share that since January 2022, we have supported 56 young people into education or training, 11 young people to gain a qualification, 42 young people to gain employment, and 133 young people to engage in developing life skills. We have also supported 20 young people to engage with the benefits system after previously being economically inactive.
This builds on the success from the first iteration of the programme, 2019 - 2021, which supported 295 young people, of which 29% entered employment, 63% undertook a training course and 18% entered long-term education.
We would like to thank our partners and wider stakeholders, including employers, that have worked with and that have supported the programme.
We are also happy to share that the Youth Panel, supported by Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN), will continue until at least December 2022 as they work with The Prince’s Trust to carry out a peer evaluation of their ‘Future Workforce Fund’ programme. The Youth Panel, supported by GMYN, will carry out interviews and focus groups whilst GMCVO will support with producing the final report, workshops and recommendations.
We will be releasing our final evaluation report shortly - watch this space!
