Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation

Awards for Bridging Cultures

Voluntary and community groups that help to build bridges between communities and cultures are invited to apply for cash prizes from an awards scheme funded by the Baring Foundation.
Awards for Bridging Cultures, which was launched last year, aims to showcase projects that promote intercultural dialogue and raise awareness of the wide range of activity taking place at grass roots level.
The award winner in each of two categories (income over £500,000 and income under £500,000) will receive £10,000, while the commended organisation in each category will pick up £5,000. They will also receive a digital camcorder and editing support, and the opportunity to make a short film about the project.
Among the award winners last year was an estates twinning project in Oldham.
The application process is short and simple. An independent panel of judges will assess applications.
