Co-design Workshop: An opportunity to contribute to the design of a new GM Health & Employment Service

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the NHS in Greater Manchester are working together to develop a new ‘early help’ service for people with health conditions and/or impairments who are either newly unemployed or at risk of falling out of employment.

There is currently no systematic early intervention pathway to prevent people with health conditions falling out of work and 98% of GM employers are SMEs or self-employed with limited or no access to occupational healthcare. This service aims to test a new approach to support to help people return to work more quickly.

This service is in the early stages of development and delegates from the GM VCSE sector are invited to contribute to the design of the service at a workshop to be held on:

Tuesday 17th October, 2.15-4.30pm
at St Thomas Centre, Ardwick Green, Manchester M12 6FZ

At the session you will hear the thinking to date and we will discuss a number of key issues including

• The need for a service like this
• The barriers to remaining in work & what support is currently available to people in GM
• The delivery model and the role the VCSE could play ?
• Scope of the proposed service
• The commissioning strategy

We are very keen to get input from a range of organisations; the session will be discussion focussed with the outputs directly feeding into the design of the new service.

This is a great opportunity to help shape this work and feed in your views on some of the detailed aspects of how the service should work.

If you would like to attend this session please email to book your place via this link

The closing date for the receipt of registrations is Wednesday 11th October 2017. Please note, in the interest of fairness to all, registrations are restricted to one delegate per VCSE organisation only.
