This report is evaluating the second year of the GM's Hidden Talent programme. The programme was funded for two years (March 2019 - March 2021) and received additional funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to partially extend the programme in Bolton, Manchester and Salford for a further three months (March 2021 to June 2021).
The programme aimed to foster greater cohesion within communities by helping hidden young people (young people who are not in employment, education or training and not claiming any benefits) aged 18-25 progress towards and into employment, whilst improving their self-esteem and wellbeing.
Hidden young people have been supported by their Talent Coach through one-to-one, long and short-term key worker engagement that looks at the whole young person from organisations across Greater Manchester.
Across both GM Talent Match and GM's Hidden Talent, we have been working with some of these organisations for seven years. In this time we've seen Talent Coaches help young people achieve some incredible outcomes. We'd like to thank all of them for their ability to see potential in young people, and their determination to help young people realise this potential.
This evaluation report describes the story of our project this year, how we involved the community in the work we did, the differences we made and what we have learnt.
