This report examines the Ambition for Ageing programme’s work in Greater Manchester through the lens of social capital.
Ambition for Ageing was a 7-year, National Lottery Community Fund funded programme (2015 – 2022) that aimed to create more age-friendly places in Greater Manchester and empowered people across Greater Manchester to live fulfilling lives as they age. Additional funding until March 2023 allowed GMCVO to continue to work to embed learning from the programme.
The report draws on over 30 case studies collected from local delivery leads across Greater Manchester to understand the role of social capital in the delivery of projects, as well as how the programme invested in the formation of new social capital in local communities.
