As part of the Home Office’s ChangeUp initiative to improve the voluntary and community sector’s (VCS) infrastructure, GMVCO took on the responsibility of conducting a mapping exercise of Greater Manchester VCS infrastructure services. The purpose of mapping service provision in the Greater Manchester sub-region was two-fold. Firstly, it enabled GMCVO, as lead body of the sub-regional ChangeUp consortium, to identify gaps in service provision that should be closed, and secondly, it provided a snapshot of what was in place at the beginning of ChangeUp, thereby establishing a baseline against which progress can be measured.
