Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation

What is GMCVO?

• Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) is the voluntary sector* support organisation for the city-region of Greater Manchester.

• GMCVO was set up as a registered charity and company limited by guarantee in 1975.

• It is a membership organisation and is governed by a board of trustees.

• GMCVO employs around 25-30 staff at the St Thomas Centre in Ardwick, a former church now leased by GMCVO.

• Core funding for GMCVO is provided by the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities, and other funders include the Big Lottery Fund and the Association of Greater Manchester Primary Care Trusts.

• An overview of GMCVO outlining our role can be seen in this short film.
