Celebrating Social Enterprise day 2022
 

Social Enterprise day takes place this year on Thursday 17th November 2022. We are joining in the celebrations to help raise awareness of social enterprises across Greater Manchester and the difference they make.

Follow GMCVO on Twitter where we will be sharing news and updates from our investees, partners, and our own social enterprise, St Thomas Centre, to find out about some of the great work being done to support local communities by social enterprises!

Online Drop-in for GM-based Social Enterprises

Wednesday 16th November, Online

This informal online drop-in is a chance to come and meet the Social Enterprise support and Social Investment team at GMCVO.

The team will be on-hand to offer advice and guidance for all things social enterprise; including setting-up, funding, social impact and social investment.

This session will help you understand how to talk about your social impact so that you can apply for social investment.

We will guide you through some of the language of social impact, the social impact information that we need to see as part of your application and first steps support in helping you build an impact framework.

Do you find the social investment sector confusing and you are not sure which funds are right for you?

This sessions, we will be joined by UnLtd to hear about their Growth Impact Fund; a social investment fund that provides investment between £50,000 and £1,500,000 for early stage, growing organisations.

You can apply now for up to £350,000 (made up of 90% loan and 10% grant) if you are an organisation or business trading for a social purpose in Bolton, Oldham, Stockport or Wigan, that wants to renovate or refurbish your building, or purchase or build something.

Winter Wellness Fund

One Manchester have launched their new fund, the Winter Wellness Fund, and are inviting local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations to apply for grants of between £2,500 and £10,000.

The £2.6million fund is now open to applications, seeking community projects that will make a real difference to their local area. Small and large grants are available for community groups wanting to create new, accessible spaces or improve existing ones in their local area.

The Recovery Loan Fund reopens for applications with £7m immediately available alongside flexible finance grants and support funding for Black and Minoritised Ethnicity-led charities and social enterprises.

Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise and Primary Care Network Partnerships
 

10GM and partners are finding innovative ways of tackling health inequalities. This includes establishing Test and Learn Sites to explore how the VCFSE sector and GPs can build lasting relationships that help them work together to tackle health inequality.

The Big Alcohol Conversation 2022
 

In 2019, more than 5,000 people joined in The Big Alcohol Conversation to share more about the role and impacts of alcohol in their communities.

Now, GMCVO want to check that the findings are still relevant following Covid-19 so we can best prevent alcohol-related harm in Greater Manchester.

The survey is now available to complete on Google forms for anyone not able to access Survey Monkey.
